Joe Abercrombie is a British fantasy author and one of the defining authors of modern grimdark fantasy. He is best known for the First Law world, which runs from the original First Law trilogy beginning with The Blade Itself (2006) through the standalone novels Best Served Cold, The Heroes, and Red Country and on into the later Age of Madness trilogy.
