Paolo Bacigalupi (born 1972) is an American science fiction writer from Paonia, Colorado, whose fiction and essays have appeared in High Country News. His stories and novels imagine futures remade by corporations and environmental collapse, including the collection Pump Six and Other Stories, the Hugo- and Nebula-winning The Windup Girl, Ship Breaker, and The Water Knife.
